NOTICE OF CHANGE IN CITY OF DINUBA WATERING SCHEDULE (EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2016)

The entire State of California has been mandated to implement strict water conservation measures in response to unprecedented drought conditions.  The City of Dinuba is required to reduce water usage by 32% compared to 2013. In an effort to continue meeting that requirement, the City Council has approved a new “Summer Watering Schedule”.  Effective October 1, 2016.

Watering Times – Summer Watering Schedule – through October 31st

  • Water before 6:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. on designated watering day
  • Runoff is prohibited.
  • Rain – Irrigation during and within 48 hours after measurable rainfall is prohibited.

Watering Times – Winter Watering Schedule – begins November 1st

  • Water between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on designated watering day.
  • Runoff is prohibited.
  • Rain – Irrigation during and within 48 hours after measurable rainfall is prohibited.

Other Provisions and Restrictions

  • Washing of sidewalks, driveways, buildings, or other paved areas is prohibited.
  • The washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, and other types of mobile equipment is  permitted only  between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Such washing, when allowed,shall be done with a hand-held bucket, or a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shut off nozzle for quick rinses.
    EXCEPTION: Washing may be done at any time on the immediate premises of a commercial car wash or commercial service station.
  • Commercial nurseries, commercial sod farmers, and similar establishments are exempt from Stage 2 irrigation restrictions, but will be requested to curtail all non-essential water use.
  • The filling, refilling, or adding of water to swimming pools, wading pools and/or spas is permitted only between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • The operation of any ornamental fountain or similar structure making similar use of water is prohibited unless the fountain uses a recycling system, such as an electric pump.

Exceptions

Exceptions may be granted if compliance causes unnecessary and undue hardship and/or in the interest of public health and safety. Written application for exceptions should be submitted to the Public Works Department.
